About
During the Arashiyama Hanatouro festival in December, the bamboo grove and surrounding temples are illuminated with thousands of lanterns, creating a magical nighttime atmosphere completely different from daytime visits.
Crowd Avoidance
Visit on Tuesday-Thursday evenings for a more relaxed atmosphere. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest.

Saga-Arashiyama Station (JR) — same access as daytime bamboo grove.
